Description

Coney Mountain (elevation 2,265') is an ideal option if you are looking for a short hike with great views. The 1-mile trail winds gradually around the mountain through dense pine forest and over open ledge on the summit. The bare summit offers one of the best 360-degree views in the region.

This trail is within Horseshoe Lake Wild Forest and is managed by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation.

Park in the small lot on the northeast side of NY-30. This hike is just across the Franklin County line in the Town of Tupper Lake. The GPS coordinates are 44.100885, -74.529211.
